Key functions of Mosgaz state unitary enterprise:

• keeping natural gas consumption records;
• monitoring, building and upgrading natural gas network facilities;
• operating natural gas networks and equipment;
• supplying natural gas to Moscow consumers;
• selling, installing, repairing and servicing gas equipment;
• building small-size power plants;
• improving the environment.

Structure:

1. The Department for High and Medium Pressure Gas Pipelines and Gas Distribution Stations:
   • operates medium and high pressure gas pipelines (close to 1,400 kilometers);
   • operates gas reducing devices (over 1,200).
2. The Department for Accidents and Repairs is tasked with localizing and eliminating accidents affecting the gas assets of Moscow.
3. District departments (5) operate:
   • low-pressure gas pipelines (close to 5900 km);
   • gas equipment of buildings (over 25,000 buildings).
4. Mospromgaz Department is tasked with:
   • servicing and maintenance of gas equipment at industrial and utility enterprises and boiler plants.
5. The Department for Anticorrosive Protection of Gas Networks:
   • operates electrical protection devices that protect underground gas pipelines from corrosion.
6. Mosgortop Department is tasked with:
   • supplying solid fuel (coal) to Moscow consumers.
