Zoo

Moscow zoo is the most ancient and the biggest zoo of our country. The metropolitan zoological garden was founded in 1864. Nowadays its animal collection accounts for more than 8 000  specimens of 1001 species.

Moscow zoo is situated on two territories and the passage is made through the gallery. After the reconstruction there was opened a unique “Exotarrium” which consists of the section for sea aquaria and new sections “Birds’ house”, “Night World”, “Heat-loving hoofed mammals”, “Heat-loving cats”, “Web-footed mammals”, “Subhuman primates”, “Indonesian Fauna”.

Little visitors are welcomed at the special “Children’s park” and children’s theatre “Tik-tak”.
