Schools
Schools, the most common educational institutions in Moscow, differ in their curricula. School curricula include standardized programs for studying common subjects, and programs designed for advanced studying of one or more subject. There are specialized programs developed for virtually each common subject for those who has already made a choice of further education or would like to get a better knowledge of a certain subject.
Besides specialized schools there are rehabilitation schools, university-oriented schools.
Curricula of rehabilitation schools are generally designed for assisting in the development of children and youngsters teenagers with chronic diseases or orthopedic, speech, visual, hearing and other disorders. There are also special schools.
Curricula of university-oriented schools offer advanced study of subjects specific to a given university and help pass entrance exams.
Recently there have emerged in Moscow schools with ethnocultural approach for language adaptation of children who do not speak Russian or have a poor knowledge of it.
There are a large number of organizations of supplementary education in Moscow: fine arts schools, music schools, weekend schools, sports schools, art schools.
